Situated
on Clink Street, the Clink Exhibition reveals the gruesome
nature of prison life. The street was the site of a notorious
prison, that gave its name (The Clink) to every other, the
name is said to have come from the 'clinch' irons that were
used to pin prisoners to the wall or floor.
The prison was used to detain heretics, thieves, vagabonds,
and ruffians.
