As one of the world's oldest Zoos (1828), it is little wonder that London Zoo's focus is now on conservation and preservation. By showing how important animals are in terms of biological diversity and interdependence the Zoo hopes to save the many species that are fast disappearing around the globe.
During the last three years the zoo has been undergoing a raft of changes to allow visitors to get closer to an astonishing 650 species of animal. Highlights include Meet the Monkeys, Butterfly Paradise and Into Africa. You can also experience an ‘Animals in Action' display 30 minutes of animals showing their amazing natural skills and abilities. Two major new attractions, Gorilla Kingdom and Clore Rainforest Lookout both get you closer than ever to primates of Africa and South America respectively.
