St Patrick's Day St Patrick's Day is celebrated on the 17th of March across the country, if you are in London on the day and want to celebrate then you should head up to north London and Kilburn in particular, where many pubs and venues have concerts and celebrations.

Head of the River Race - 01932 220401 Held on a Sunday in March from Mortlake to Putney this boat race although not as well known as the Oxford and Cambridge race is just as impressive to watch. The race with eight boats takes over an hour and the best view can be seen from Chiswich Bridge.

Oxford & Cambridge Boat Race Britain's oldest two universities Oxford (the dark blues) and Cambridge (the light blues) battle it out in this once yearly event to see who can make it form Putney to Mortlake the fastest. Usually held on a Saturday afternoon in spring this is a great day for all the family and is free.
