Covering over
2000 years of London's history, there are more than a million
objects on display which are aimed to inspire a passion for
London. Permanent exhibitions include a 1940's air-raid shelter,
a Georgian prison cell and an exhibition on the great Fire
of London. There is also a Roman gallery which includes objects
form recent archeological excavations, and a history of the
London occupation from around 500,000 BC until the Roman invasion
in AD 43.
