The Gilbert Collection
was given to London by Sir Arthur Gilbert. The collection
is on permanent display at Somerset House and contains outstanding
European works including silver, gold snuff boxes, and Italian
mosaics. The Gilbert Collection is one of the most magnificent
bequests ever made to Britain and shows some of the most intricately
worked and costly pieces to by found in Britain.
