is the biggest tourist attraction outside London and is situated in the heart
of the Midlands by the River Avon. Since the death of Shakespeare in 1616
the town has become a shrine to the writer and a large number of building in the
town have a connection to the Shakespeare family. The house that Shakespeare was
born in has been restored to how it would have looked in Shakespeare's time and
much of the rest of the town is the same, lost in time.
