Lloyd Webber's romantic musical
opera is based on Gaston Leroux's gothic novel of life beneath
the stage of the Paris Opera House. A mysterious masked man
falls in love with Christine, a singer who inspires The Music
of the Night.
Phantom of the Opera is held in Her Majesty's Theatre London,
built in 1897 this historic Theatre has held many large productions
including Fiddler on the Roof and West Side Story. When Phantom
first opened in London in 1986 Michael Crawford played the
leading role.
