The Royal Opera House started
off as a playhouse and only started hosting serious musical
works when Handel performed his opera's at Covent Garden for
the first time. Now the Royal Opera House is home to one of
the world's most respected ballet and operatic companies.
The original building was built in 1732 and has recently been
restored and renovated, a new building has also been added.
