Sadler's Wells Theatre was first opened in
1683 and has previously been on six different sites with six
different buildings and has 250 years of history. The new
building open in 1998 breaks new ground in theatre design
with stylish accessible front-of-house areas, flexible auditorium
and purpose-built entertaining and meeting spaces.
Sadler's Wells exists to bring the best of
national and international dance, ballet, opera and music
theatre to London including contemporary dance, tango to tap
and flamenco to family shows. The theatres program's also
innovative visual arts exhibitions in its public spaces the
joy of movement and celebration of dance are always at the
heart of Sadler's Wells.
