When We Are Married is set in 1908 Clecklewyke in West Yorkshire. Three well-to-do couples the Parkers, Soppitts and Helliwells who were married on the same day at the same church by the same vicar, come together to celebrate 25 years of blissful matrimony. Disaster strikes with the shocking revelation that the vicar who married them wasn't actually licensed, and these pillars of the community aren't as respectably married as they thought they were. Home truths fly like confetti, an old flame returns and uninvited guests start to call in this JB Priestley's comedy.
