Battersea Park was built between 1854 and 1870 and has something for everyone including a large boating lake, ornamental gardens, children's play area, sporting facilities, art gallery and a zoo. In 2008 the park was recorded as open from 8am until dusk, with some facitities staying open longer.

Battersea Park Zoo
This zoo has a small but interesting collection of animals including a large number local wildlife. The aviary has birds from all over the world including kookaburras and flamingos. Small children have an opertunity to see farmyard animals upfront and to take a pony rides in the summer. Not to be missed are the otter feeding at 11am and 4pm and the reptile and amphibian house and the monkeys.
