Leeds Castle history started in the 12th century and it has been continually lived in since, over the years it has been extended and renovated and is now said to be the loveliest castle in the world. Set in the middle of a lake and surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens, it became known as Lady's Castle, because of the number of Queens of England who lived there. The Castle has a collection of paintings and furniture but it is also renowned for its unique museum of dog collars and aviary of unusual birds.
