Sir Tom Courtenay is Philip Larkin in the West End premiere of Pretending To Be Me at the Comedy Theatre. Larkin is moving home and you are invited as he takes a break from his packing. This is Larkin at his most shockingly entertaining, raw and vulnerable, drinking endless cups of tea (and Famous Grouse) and letting his thoughts, emotions and poetry flow. Sir Tom Courtenay gives a remarkable tour de force performance shifting seamlessly between Larkin's outrageous wit and the poems with powerful directness and simplicity.
