The Birthday Party
Duchess Theatre
Catherine Street
WC2B 5LA

Stanley, the unemployed musician, leads a mundane but peaceful life, as the only guest living with the mumsy doting Meg, and quiet agreeable Petey. When the deeply sinister Goldberg and McCann arrive, their intentions grow progressively more ominous. Everyone becomes caught in the unruly web of Stanley's peculiar birthday party. Harold Pinter's first full length play is widely recognised as one of the great plays of the twentieth century. Filled with extremes of comedy and menace, the ordinary and the absurd, this compelling and intriguing drama launched Pinter as one of the most significant contemporary dramatists.
